Back to Low mood or depression

MindEd: sad, bored or isolated

This training session will help staff recognise the difference between clinical depression and normal everyday sadness. It reviews ways to respond and help those who are distressed but not depressed.

By the end of this session staff members will be able to:

  • Explain what clinical depression looks like, and how it is different from everyday emotional expression and experience
  • Describe what staff members should do if they see this presentation
  • Explain the options for this problem, and how to offer help
