Positive choices for a healthy you
Teach your KS2 pupils about mental health with this eight-lesson resource pack.
This resource introduces pupils to the concepts of mental health and wellbeing, and helps to teach them strategies for managing their emotions.
There are eight lessons included in this resource, each focusing on a different topic around mental health and wellbeing. The topics are:
- Self-worth
- Personal strengths
- Positive relationships
- Emotional wellbeing and mental health
- Positive choices
- Coping with feelings
- Managing conflict
- Getting help
Each lesson includes:
- an interactive PowerPoint
- a guide for teachers about how to deliver the lesson
- an extension activity, where relevant
Using this resource
This resource is designed for:
- children aged 7 to 11
- use with whole classes or smaller groups
There are eight sessions in total. Each session can be delivered as a 45 minute lesson, or the activities may be used separately and delivered in shorter time periods, for example during circle time.
