About this resource
The Young Carer Health Journal is a practical booklet developed with young carers to support students with caring responsibilities at home. It brings together health information and reflective content, alongside clear signposting to relevant support services.
The journal encourages young carers to recognise their strengths, reflect on their wellbeing and consider how to start conversations with education staff about their role. Blank pages provide space for students to record their thoughts and experiences, helping them feel heard and understood.
For education settings, this resource can support student voice and strengthen inclusive practice. It may be particularly helpful in one-to-one support conversations and when reviewing provision for young carers as part of a whole-school or college approach.
