Autistic and OK toolkit
A free, evidence-informed toolkit enabling autistic young people to lead peer wellbeing sessions in secondary schools and colleges.
About this resource
The Autistic and OK programme from Ambitious about Autism is a free preventative mental health toolkit for secondary schools, colleges and alternative provision settings working with young people aged 11 to 19.
The programme supports autistic students to better understand their mental wellbeing and feel more confident in who they are.
The toolkit enables autistic pupils in Years 10 to 13 to lead four structured peer sessions for younger autistic students, with guidance and support from staff. Sessions focus on understanding and managing anxiety, depression, OCD and bullying.
A comprehensive teacher guide is included to support effective implementation.
Further guidance
A short form must be completed to download the full toolkit. Settings should check file compatibility across devices before delivery.
Some staff may also benefit from training or preparation around autism and peer-led delivery to ensure confident implementation.
