Responding to bullying toolkit
A tool to help education settings develop their response to incidents of bullying.
This resource advocates for a three step response to bullying framework to help develop a consistent approach to responding to bullying in education settings.
The three steps are:
- Safety of those directly involved
- Preventing the bullying from reoccurring
- School learning and reflection
The guide explains the three steps in detail with helpful prompts for consideration in each area.
In addition, the resource describes how bullying is often a group behaviour and gives examples of the different roles that may be involved.
There is a sample bullying log included which staff can edit to suit their individual setting. It emphasises the importance for the reporting staff member to record their actions to ensure the safety of the student.
